Day.23. Portland, Victoria

A cool & pleasant day with a maximum of 21 degrees, saw us relocate from Mt Gambier, interstate to Portland, via the coast road through Nelson.
On arrival a ride out to Cape Nelson light house, a round trip of 30k with plenty of head wind & plenty of short sharp hills. Another state another time zone, I don't think much of the late sunsets, tonight sunset is at 8.55pm so it probably won't get dark until 9.45, no wonder I'm tired.

Glenelg river at Nelson, our morning tea stop. Great little boat sheds where you drive your boat straight in.

Pano at Nelson...

Boiling the kettle at the riverside in Nelson.

Some rowers in training coming past.

Our new camp in Portland.

Off again to cape Nelson, passing the bulk wood chip loading terminal.

This is my wife, Yvonne. She is wearing lots of stuff on her head.

The circus is in town.

Big fans on the road to Cape Nelson.

More big fans, I love em.

Cape Nelson light.

Greg is quite tall .?????

View from beside the light house.

Another one.

And another one.

The light keepers residence. You can rent this place if you want, thats a 'for rent' sign on the front fence.

Greg taking a picture on the cliff edge.

More fans near the light.

The stumps of petrified trees.

Some cliffs on the lee side of the Cape.

 Pano of the same.

The lady with all the stuff on her head.

On the way home again.

An old style traditional long boat.

If you want to empty your b double of wood chip quickly, just hold it upright & shake it. They do that here 3 at a time.
