Day.15. Race 1 TDU

Once again cycled across town to Unley to watch the start of the first race of the first event of the international cycling season.
There were a lot of people there & it was quite good fun
The morning was pleasant, but as we rode home it became very hot, Wendy measured 47.9 (118*F) on her phone., it was still 37.9 at 6pm. The prediction was for 39*.
We arrived back at the van at lunch time & watched the rest of the race on TV in the van with the air conditioning on.
Tomorrow we are heading up to Hahndorf, predicted maximum of 26* with a southerly change.

Cyclists, team cars, reporters, officials & crowds.

Robie Mcewan interviewing Ritchie Porte.

Preparations continue.

The cycling central crew doing their commentary & interviews, we watch these guys on TV every year when the Tour De France is on.

More of the same.

The race finally starts, motorbike cameraman in the foreground.

The peleton passing being led by the race director.

Tail enders pass by.

The race is gone & we head back to the bikes.

On the bikes, heading home along the race route.

Heading home, what you can't see is how hot it was.

Selfie, where you can see how hot it was.
